I have to replace my intake gasket, I'm sucking up way to much oil. I just did valve seals (which were gone), but I'm still going through oil. I did them last year with Fel-Pro 1204's. I've read here that I should use 1205 (printoseal). What about Mr. Gasket's Ultra Seal's???
If the intake gaskets have oil on them, there is your indicator of the intake sucking oil. I used the Ultra Seal gaskets and went around every port and bolt hole with black rtv. NO leaks. I also let it cure for 48 hrs after assembly.
I don't know, but I just replaced the seals with umbrella & o-rings and it didn't even slow down. No water, leaking just oil consumption. I don't want to do this again. I just want the best gasket...
i've always used FelPro, but just a couple of weeks ago i needed to replace mine and summit didn't have my size FelPro in stock. so i got the Mr. Gasket. It worked OK for me
Contrail, did the black RTV hold it in place or did you have to tack it also?
The RTV held it in place. I let the RTV sit for 10-15 minutes before I placed the gaskets on it. Then I RTV'd all the bolt holes in the top of the gasket and waited another 10-15 min. before I set the intake in place. So far, no leaks.
