C5 wheel adapter measurements??
Finally everything is starting to come together, so I can finally get my new rims put on my car. My tires should be here in the next few days so I am not trying to figure out what what size of adapters I need, to run the wheels on my 81? I have heard that a 3 inch adapter works well, but will that work for the front and the back of the car? I have seen a few guys running C5 rims and am wondering what size adapter they are using. I'm going to be installing 17" x 8.5" C5 wagon wheels with either 245-45-17 or 255-45-17 tires... have not decided yet but the wheels came with the 245 tires. Anyway, I'm using 2.5" adapters. What I did was put a wheel on a jack and from the back side of the wheel eye ball where I wanted the tire to be relative to the wheel well. Then I measured the distance from the inner mounting pad of the wheel to the hub. In my case is was 2.5" so that is what I ordered.

SuperFast80 has just installed C5 wheels on his car. I think the post is in the general section, lookit up they look very good on his car. He used 3" on the rear and 2.5" on the front. He also has pics of the car from the side and front and rear.
