Yes, you can pry it in with 2 small screwdrivers or you can clean both surfaces really well and fill the groove in the cover with RTV sealer. Neither of these methods is really preferred though.

your'e just askin for a leak... un button the idler arm on the right side and drop the pan.. for the time involved in it, it's worth the reduced headaches!
