383 Fired Up Today!
After two months of being in a local speed shop having the original 350 converted to a high quality 383...today it was fired up and made it's first dyno run.
Keeping in mind that we started with a totally stock L48 that set a baseline dyno of 162 hp at the rear...first set of mods (64cc heads, XE274 cam, performer intake, Thunder 650 carb and exhaust bumped us up to 260 hp at the rear.
Today's first run delivered 316 hp at the rear and 371 torq but lost momentum around 5900... looks like the intake is restricting the new engine...will have to make a move to an Edelbrock RPM AirGap next.
Continue tuning over the weekend and early next week... will post the final charts/numbers once ready.
I was dropping off my transmission to be rebuilt at Speedtek Performance in on Saturday afternoon, and I saw what looked like an 80 with about 3 or 4 mechanincs under the hood.

Is that yours?
Kevin,
Yes... White 1980... I was just departing when I think I saw you arrive... Trans on the back of an SUV?
I really like the guys at SpeedTek... they have done all of the work and do it well! Kyle and Eric are great.

Just stopped by on my way to DFW for a flight... Eric and I took it down the road and back... WOW! What a difference! New focus/problem has moved to getting the wheels to hook up now!
