Default Top speed C-3

I wasn't going to say anything because I rarely post. But I did not see anything wrong with the post on top speed. I did not even see anyone jumping on the lower mentality person who had all his facts and figures screwed up. Something about some famous turbo builder and 1400 hp to go 200 mph.

There are lots of sanctioned high speed events in which Corvettes have been apart of for over 50 years.

So was it you, Gdaina playing forum god again?

IBTL

I believe that issues with closed/locked threads are best discussed with PMs. With that being said...IBTL

i've never pushed my car to top end on public roads, and never would. but this is interesting stuff for those of us who want to hit the track.

I wasn't surprised at all that it got removed. Too many people were bragging about hitting top end on public roads. I was the one that suggested they use a race track or Bonneville. ANY thread that endorses breaking the law will get locked or removed. The Mods and Troy had every right to do it. I was a bit surprised it lasted as long as it did. And my hat's off to GDaina or whatever mod removed it.

There was nothing wrong with the topic, just some of the replies. Leave the topic, but delete the offending replies and insert a warning about street racing. It was an interesting topic about legit racing and I was enjoying it.

Norval got one pulled a couple weeks ago that was also very interesting. It was about high speed instability and how he could correct it, I think...

Everyone loses when a topic just disappears...

IBTL.

There was some interesting information in the thread. It would have been much more practical to edit the thread then to just destroy it entirely. Also, does anyone know how much hp the l88 lemans racers had?

"ANY thread that endorses breaking the law will get locked or removed."

I think thats should get locked or removed. I know this is stupid, but removing an AIR pump from a car is technically breaking the law.

Oh im also suprised this hasnt been locked

It was one of those " mine are bigger than yours " types of threads.

I would bet 100 bucks that almost every one of you were stretching the truth about your top end anyway. At least the ones that claimed over 140.

I don't think that this is the right way to address the issue... PM the mods or admins if you think that the tread shouldn't have been removed. Openly criticizing a mod will only get you in trouble...

I agree 100%. The claimed top speeds were really getting silly. And as soon as people started saying WHERE they achieved those speeds, it sealed the thread's doom. As far as deleting undividual posts in a thread, that's impractical and the thread would be incoherent since many of the replies referenced offending posts. Mods shouldn't have to bother policing every single post in a thread. Perhaps people would be more careful if they LOST THEIR POSTING PRIVILEGES FOR A WEEK OR TWO. I had that happen to me and it ain't no fun talking to yourself.
