Default Torque values for spindle pieces...

I don't see the torque values for the three bolts that hold the spindle pieces together in my ***. Manual. Any chance anyone has them in a Chevy Power book or any other publication? I'm talking about the two longer bolts that assemble the spindle to the other 2 pieces that include the brake splash shield and then the third bolt (about an inch long) that is located up above on the spindle piece. The car is an '81 but I doubt that'll make a difference....

Thanks for any help....

OK, I found a previous post that identifies the torque number for the longer two bolts at 70 lbs. Anyone have an idea for the larger diameter shorter bolt at the top?

Thanks,

You mean the parking brake shoe pivot bolt?

If you're refering to the front, I don't think I found the torque spec for the upper bolt. I torqued it at around 120 ft lbs. It's a fairly large bolt.

Ya, that's the one..... large diameter, short (about an inch) bolt on the top of the front spindlr set. I'll take it to 120 lbs. and hope for the best.

Thanks,

I just assembled mine a few weeks ago and that sounds about right. I could verify it for you when I get a chance to look in the manual.

watch ebay for gm service manuals. i picked mine up for $13.

I went through the service manual and found very little about the spindle assembly, other then seperating it from the A-arms and reattaching. Same with the assembly manual... although with hundreds of pages I could have just missed it.
