bad plugs
383 stroker 1500 miles on motor .Last 2 time I was out for a ride I get popping form the side pipes. As the car warms up 5 miles or so seams to stop and runs good.
I pulled some plugs look black to oily. I am going to change the plugs, should I look for something else?

Need more information. Cam? Carb? Intake? Plugs? The popping in the exhaust indicates a rich mixture in the exhaust but the fact that it stops once fully warmed up suggests that it not a jetting or timing problem. Some possible problems could be too cold of plugs that foul while on choke and eventually burn off or a choke that's staying on longer than it should.
