multi point injection
im putting mpi onto my L81 
my question is will converting the stock hei dizzy to "hall effect" mean that i can get rid of computer or will i have to replace the dizzy with another and convert that to "hall effect" to get rid of computer

Need more info. What kind of MPI are you installing? Many aftermarket computers work with later model HEI's such as the 81-86 large cap 7-pin HEI or the 87-95 remote coil 8-pin HEI.
"Hall effect" is the type of trigger. HEI is magnetic, not hall effect.

Just put the edelbrock mpi on our 66 chevelle in april. just convert your distributor with the kit and plug it in. if your worried about it not working with your dist., mallory makes a dist. specifically for the edelbrock kit. Good luck
