Default Reset anti-theft???

OK gentlemen I have replaced both motor accuators, drivers door lock cylinder switch, anti-theft switch and wiring, both door switch wiring and plugs but still power locks not working. Is there a reset for the anti-theft? I found the flasher and relay and all are hooked up and no fuses are blown. Any help is always greatly appreciated.

Oh yea it's a 79

The anti-theft relay (and I know this because my alarm is broken ...) is reset by "unlocking" the driver's side door with the key. It's armed the opposite way -- by "locking" the driver's side door with the key. Emphasis on "with the key". The power lock buttons will not arm or disarm the alarm. But I don't believe the anti-theft system has anything to do with the door locks. I double checked the wiring diagram and there's no mention of no alarm system in the door lock circuit.

Have you put a meter on the switches to make sure they have current and that all the right things happen as you move each switch up and down? The lock circuit is weird -- power crosses from left to right. If something is wrong in the middle the locks don't work (grrrr). If something is wrong on either side the locks don't work (grrrr).

And yeah, mine is also a 79.

Sorry for not mentioning ladies. There is a switch that is referred as anti-theft switch that is attached to the clip that holds the drivers door lock cylinder in place. The wire that attaches to this came in the same harness that the cylinder switch is in and plugs in the same plug under dash. I assume they all work in conjunction. Just cannot get any voltage anywhere at locks, switches and motors.

No, they don't work together.

Current for the door locks comes from the fuse panel from a circuit that's connected directly to the battery (this is why your locks work when the ignition is off). It's the orange wire in the rainbow of wires that are door locks. Toggling either switch will connect that circuit to the tan or gray wires. By default, orange is connected to nothing (the circuit isn't energized), purple and tan are connected, and pink and gray are connected. Those are your lefthand switch wires and colors -- on the right hand side tan and gray are replaced by black wires which are your ground returns, and that ground is screwed into the door.

Rather than make your head swim, go find that orange wire and start there. When you verify that you've got current there, if you've not found the problem, come back and I'll make your head swim.

OK that sounds good start. I'll give it a go in a couple of days and let you know.

I finally got back to tinkering. I have power to the relay and flasher under the console. The thing is the relay was clicking when I would turn the key but no lock movement. With a meter I have steady power at the orange, the to blues have power when key is turned each way. The black stays dead and the yellow stays hot. I took the relay out and it sound like something is loose inside, put it back in then nolonger makes clicking sound when key is turned. Also if anyone knows where to get these relays would be big help.
