Mine do! When ever I make a hard left or almost any right turn in my '74 my GT II's rub the inner fender. It's startin to drive me nuts! Do you guys have this problem? I have a buddy with a '69 who said his body shop ground the inner fenders down so his GT's wouldn't rub. Is this what I have to do to fix this? They are the right size (P225/70R15) on the original rallys.
This is a mixed bag...mostly with 255-60-15's.....but in your case, with stock tires,I'd check caster and would also chauk wheel wells at rear of tire to see where it's rubbing...then go from there..
I've got 235/60/15 BFG's on my '71 and they just barely rub on the insides during full turns. I also noticed that the inside of the rear tires barely touch the parking brake "mickey mouse" clips.
i have 235/60-15's, no issues with rubbing, actually look a little small, next set will be 255's. i have upgraded the suspension so i think that is giving me the clearance.
I had hard rubbing on the frame rails on both sides with mine both before and after a 4 wheel alignment. I was using stock steel wheels.
It's no better with the 17's now either since all of the wheels involved use the same backspacing.
Matt, the P225/70R-15 tire is just ever so slightly LARGER than the stock designed GR70-15 tires that came on '73-'77 Corvettes. That stock tire was even close to rubbing when the car was new, so it'd make sense that "some" cars tires will rub with P225/70-15 installed.
Anyone out there comment on this, I am currenty running Goodyear GTs 245/60/15 and they do rub just a bit on a hard turn. I realize (or cannot find) this size is no longer available, if I move to GT IIs 255/60/15 will the rubbing issues become worse?

I'm running Goodyear 255/60VR/15 tires on all four corners and actually have enough clearence in the front, but not enough for 70s i would think.
You can put chauk on rear of your front wheel wells down to bottom and see where chauk rubs off...I did this after lowering my front end 3/4"....got lucky...if you use chauk,go drive it...then check...
