What backspacing is right to fit a set of 15x8's under a 73'. Do I need to get a spacer? Have heard the spacer/backspacing thing go both ways. If you have/are using the SS let me know your spec's so I can get the right combo. Thanks

If the '73 is similiar to the '69, maybe this will help......I have 15x7 Cragar SS's with standard backspacing (4.75"). You WILL need a 1/2" spacer (available from Cragar) to clear the stock calipers. With 255R-15 tires, there's just enough room in the rear. 255-15's in the front will rub the inner fender on sharp turns.
When I had my 15 x 8 Cragars, they were 4.5 inch backspacing. With the 1/2 inch spacer that I used, they were the same offset like the factory wheels (4 inches)
call Cragar they'll give you the part number of the spacer kit there's a couple of them out there the crager one includes lugs for almost the same price
Can you not get Crager's to fit without the spacer??
No you can't! The brake calipers get in the way! I know...I tried and DID NOT like the way it worked/fit! Decided to go with American Racing Torque Thrust II. I did not have to use any type of spacers!
