I'm tired of my feet geTting wet whenever it rains and am planning on using black silicone caulking to hopefully solve the problem. Are there any particular spots in the cowl area I should pay particular attention to? If you have pics please post.
Also, do yourself a favor and forget the silicone. Get polyurethane caulking. You can find it at home improvement stores and it is usually marked as "50 year" caulking. It's the same thing that is used to set windshields, except it's about $3.50 from Lowe's instead of $20.00 from a body shop supply co.
what if you have a crack in the area behind the side louvers on the cage of the car? i think thats where i get leaks from and get wet feet also. anyone know how to seal this area up without having to take the body off?
I used a two part epoxy called sc 2000 we use this stuff at work for sealing the hinged back doors on pressure vessels it dries into a rubber theres always some left after a job if it doesnt go on my work boots i dump it down my car somewhere last time i dumped it down the sides of the front clip where it meets the body just made a funnel out of cardboard and dumped er down the corner i figured it cant hurt anything except it hardened on one side of my side pipes it will burn off plus i got my new side mount headers comming to get rid of the cheep looking 90 elbow style anyways hope that helps this stuff seals anything! and is very flexable perfect for a vette not so cheap though
