Default yes...another carb ?

my 71BB was falling flat at wot so i increased the primary jets two sizes. it still does it and i've realized its actually starving for gas becuzz of rust in the gas tank is preventin the carb from getting enough fuel... should i go back to stock jets after changing the tank and blowing the fuel lines clear or leave it as is... how can i tell if it is running rich.

I would go back to stock jets and work from there, they should be close to what the engine needs and you don't want to turn it on with everything running fine finally and have the engine running too rich. Easy way to tell if you're running to rich is number one if you're puffing out black smoke then you know you're way off, or the best way is to look at your spark plugs...that is if you haven't gone out and bought those expensive air/fuel ratio sensors.

In case you didnt know about the spark plugs, take them out after running the engine at operating temperature and check the color of the plugs...brite white color and especially if it looks like its blistering means you're lean, and a dark brown or blackish color means you're too rich.
