Trying to get 74 vette up and running after sitting several months. Change points and when trying to start, I noticed that my points are not opening. Any advice what is causing this? Thanks

Not sure, its been a long time, but are you sure they are set right? If the little tang on the points is not hitting the cam on the distributor then the points will not open and close. You need to set the points with the tang on the high spot of the dist.cam.

Hook up a dwell meter, crank the engine until it reads 30 degrees. Should be good to go.
Don't forget to put a little grease on the dist cam.
You can pull the dis and bench set the points at .0017.
