And no, I don't wish I was 18. At 18, I was a broke, four-eyed pimple-dork who couldn't get laid in a 'ho-house with a fistful of $100 bills. Now, @ 43, I get more azz than a toilet seat. I even have to say "no" on occasion.
Hell, *I'm* 43 too, and, pretty much just like at 18, I couldn't get laid in a two bit 'hohouse on two-fer night with a fresh gold card with a few krugerrands to throw in for tips!!!
Now the CAR....yep....if I left it filled up, keys in it and the ignition on and a $100 bill on the driver seat outside a sorority and IT would see PLENTY of "action"...
I think the direction THIS thread is going it should be merged with the "urban myths" thread....
EL CID - don't listen to these geezers' war stories anymore than you might your buds'.....you have a nice CAR - it ain't no magic wand dude! It's for driving and enjoying that - those "looks" from chicks won't translate into anything unless you got bucks, looks or dope and evne then only if you really want a kiddie payment on her two fatherless kids, the money she owes on her trailer rent or 3/4's of the bucks to pay for her crack habit....hope that ain't a shocker!
Hmmm...I'd hit it!. Hot, trashy welfare mom's =

but i know that there are ricers that can take me out easily. i mean, yeah, you can just ignore it but thats a big part of owning my car for me, i want to know that it is powerful and one of those you have to watch out for. because sure it looks great but its got nothing to back it up and that really sucks!!!
!i want the looks to equal the power because remeber when everyone is young they want to be the fastest! its only later that you just enjoy the car for what it is

Oh and for guy who has a friend with the Eclipse GS-T that runs 14.1 (which I have to doubt unless it's sprayed)? One word - crankwalk! Your friend will know what Im talking about. I'm shocked that any old turboed 2nd generation eclipses are still working.

BUT YOU CAN GET IT AND MUCH MORE BACK!!!

I find exactly the reverse - more newer/younger enthusiasts are more interested in the looks, the styles, the appreciation from others...more "codger league" enthusiasts (35-55 typically) will spend ungodly amounts of money, screwing over the appearance if necessary in preference of pure performance.
You get in little highway contests with the real porsche league folks, risking sizable tickets, and you find them 40-60 more than 20-30....just like I "budget" (find another barely unmaxed out CC!) a max of $1,000/month for fuel, I "budget" $1,000/year for ticket lawyers...
.... sonny, I have not spent nearly EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS to "just enjoy it for what it is" - *I* want to kill BUGATTIS & MCLARENS!!!
I hope, by the time I hit $125K or so, to be able to beat anything you can buy for under $1M in real world contests on real roads, giving them some in absolute handling and some in braking, but making it up in balance in raw power. If I can figure out a way to incorporate AWD, I don't even give them the first of that. They will still also have huge edges in economy and emmissions - but there aren't any "E's" in MY religion.
I may not make it - I might grease myself getting there - I almost certainly will go broke (maybe several times!) getting there - but I think it's doable with a C3 platform - to be the equal or superior of true current day supercars in toto, for 1/8th the cost.
BTW, "sonny"
, I am happy to hear from you and the starter of the thread not EVERYONE born after AMERICA landed on the Moon is a "metrosexual" more concerned with $2500 of 24" rims and "styyyyle" - that the "old school" of SUBSTANCE before IMAGE is what matters!
acuatlly, it's first gen, and it's got a Small 16b turbo, and it works beautifully, pumping out 16 pounds of boost and no nitrous. I'll post pics when i get the pics of my car up. he's my best bud, so his car is in a couple of my shots.
THANK YOU. even if you arent able to give them, thank you
