If it goes THEN bogs then I think it may be a rich condition rather than lean condition. If so then you are tuning it the wrong way by enlarging the pump.
Have someone ride behind you and see if there is a puff of black smoke when you accelerate hard.
Did you replace the gasket in between the carb and intake? If not start the engine and spray some carb cleaner around the base of the carb while it's running if it starts to stumble this could be your problem. Just a thought and doesn't change any settings.
No black soot and the gasket seal is tighter than a Catholic's panties.
At hotter temperatures (was around 214 degrees when I did this) the hesitation was less evident. Which tells me it's more than likely a lean condition. I choked up the air vents and put some duct tape over the part of the air filter and it seems to have less hesitation.
Did a few e-mails with lars and he said to check the jetting and float level. Anyone care to elaborate further on this?
I had this probl;em on two different vehicles: a i974 corvette 350 and a 1973 ElCamino 454. In both cases, if I was driving along at about 35 to 45 MPH and floored it, the car would hesitate for a brief instance and then start pulling again. The problem was the vacumn hold down unit for the secondarie air valve. It was not holding the top air valve closed when I floored it but let it open right away. Since the RPMs were not up high enough to allow for secondary opening, the car hesitated. I would replace the Vacumn unit that holds the secondarie air valve closed
Ok just talked to edelbrock. One thing I found that I did wrong was I had the vacuum advance on the wrong port, supposedly. It's supposed to be on the driver's side near the idle mixture screw, at first I hoped this might be the solution, not quite. Then they asked about the accelerator pump, no way jose, that's a brand new pump and the old one looked fine. Last thing they said it could possibly be is the nozzles might have dirt in them and therefore aren't getting a big enough squirt out.

The secondaries are most definitely not opening too early. They're actually working quite well. I kicked the crap out of an old Mustang yesterday morning on the CA78 east while en route to grandma and grandpa's
