I have finally got a handle on my cooling issues. Two rads and 4 spal fans later I can now keep the blown 640 at 160 degrees on a 90 plus day.One rad has valves from the back of the heads going to a rad intercooler then to the main radiator. The other is a be cool radiator with a spal 16 extreme puller and pusher, The smaller c&r custom radiator uses 2 7inch spals. I can run any or all fans. This extra plumbing added 1 gallon more fluid capacity. Now I can start setting up the engine for qtr mile times as I have not been able to control temp to get this new engine broken in the way I like.TT will post pics as soon as he can . I also got my new front wheels, waiting for the rears and big goodyears.
You mentioned an extra gallon capacity. Could it be that the cooling is accomplished because of the extra capacity of the coolant? Maybe you don't actually need two radiators...just thinking.

I think the capacity helps but when I shut down the valves to the other cooler it goes up 20 degrees hotter. I open them and it drops right down.
Hey Mike, I'm glad you got got it to cool down. When are you going to be ready to take some videos and wheelstanding pictures? Let me know when and I will be there?

I will, should be soon, waiting for my rear beadlock wheels and goodyears, than I will attack the track.I plan on driving it 25-50 miles this weekend to dial in the engine.Aug they have the doorslammer race.I would not win but I would be the only one that drove it to the event.
Interesting car but I never had an engine heat problem with a 468 and b&m megablower many moons ago.Add another1000hp to the equation and its a diff story.Beauty is in function but if you dont need it ?
Norval, he has a clock...so scratch 1 (he now has me beat by 2) a clock is completely useless and does not count for an automotive gauge
Also interesting that he claims to sport a C5 front suspension where it obviously is C4 (the upper arm is a dead giveaway, the C5 has the ball joint under the spindle on top, not above it, it's a hanging ball joint) ... guess that's what you get when you pay to have stuff done..you won't know what your own car is made up of

Nice photos. I was *wondering* where the second radiator would be installed. There's a lot of room up there without the headlight mechanisms. I assume this is strictly a race vehicle then?
Never seen so many gauges, must be one to monitor how much stuff comes out when you crap your pants during a launch.
I like the looks of this car, but some of it is "over the top" for me. That guy has put a *ton* of work into that thing! The site is interesting also, but I had to stop after three hours... I wonder what he does for a living? You can also safely assume he's single...

Sorry about the typo! I was NOT trying to 'pull one over" on anyone. I simply have hit the 5 instead of the 4. And NO, I don't throw handfulls of money at it for others to build MY vette. I have owned it since new and have always done my own engineering and body work/paint, etc. I do NOT weld, so the chassis wlding and such were farmed out, as I have clearly stated outlinning the entire history on my Car Domain site member page: 591305. I hope you will accept this appolgy for the simple error. I remain Car Crazy at over 60 years of age. Glenn

Thanks for trying to take the time to view my extensive pages at Car Domain. You are partially correct. I don't work...except on my car all the time for I'm retired on diability. I'm over 60 now so it takes a lot longer to do a job then before. And as for marriage, the car cost me one marriage, but i'm married currently, though she isn't thrilled about the car, she understands it was a part of me long before she was and puts up with it as long as it doesn't cut into our living expenses. That's the reason I had to just sell my 99 HD M/C to help pay for the current redo I'm on now. Thanks again for words. Glenn
