Replacing parking brake handle assembly
I have a 71 and I bought a new parking brake handle assembly off ebay. I was wondering if anybody has experience with replacing this. If you have done this could you please tell me how.. (so I don't screw anything up) This is the whole handle with the pully (not just the grip)

Loosen the cable tensioner under car enough so you can release the cable from the pulley (under car), remove parking brake console cover, remove switch for warning light, remove four bolts, remove screw that goes thru the nylon wear thing, remove cable. Pretty much reverse the process to re-install.

Some of these covers also have a screw that faces toward the rear. You get access to it through the middle box behind the seats. The sliding cover that fits around the handle has a slit in it - you spread this out a bit to allow it to be removed.
