So Now What?
My car is doing a Marty Feldman on me.I just replaced the carb, rebuild the rear suspension, put on a new set of hedders and a true dual exhaust system. This car is nickle and diming me to death! I just came back from a trip to Seattle with my 442.
I hopped in, started it, got to Seattle, stayed with friends, toured Vancouver and drove back through the mountains (some 6 & 8% grades). No overheating, no starting problems, no vibrations, power to pass anything on the road (including corvettes) , no electrical problems, no fuel or charging system problems and this 442 is the same year as my corvette! She ran like she was 29 days old instead 29 years old. I just jumped in and started it. GM really screwed up killing Oldsmobile.
So now this. So what's involved in fixing this so it's sellable. Is it a big job? Is it expensive? Don't have the tools except the basics (never needed anything more with the 442). The olny good news is that it happend in my driveway and not on the raod (considering I took it on a round trip to Montreal in May). Thanks for the ear (or eye). Bad week and back to work tomorrow.

Something broke in your front end or steering. Get under there and look. Tell us what you see and maybe we can help you. Based on your explanation I suggest you take it to a shop and have it fixed. This is not a 442 it is a sophisticated automobile.

Thanks. I check it out and see what details I can find. Some women are sophisticated too (like Ginger on Gilligan's Island). But I always liked Mary Ann - less maintenance
