Default Head light problem

Hi,

I am having a problem with one of my headlights on my 1974 and I was wondering if someone could offer some guidance or suggestions.

When I shut off my car with the headlights off the left side will raise by itself. If I restart the car it will go down and stay down when I shut the car off the second time.

Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

You gots a vacuum leak somewhere in the system, gonna have to track it down.

sounds like either your vaccume lines are backwards, or
If you have an override it's open, and the driver side headlight has a problem.

I just posted this exact question a few days ago. Mine turned out to be a bad check valve that allowed the vacuum to bleed off when the car was shut off. Check this post out for more info.

Check valve is usually the problem in these cases. It is the little metal thing that splits the vacuum from the engine into two lines, right where the vacuum lines are attached to the engine.
