a.c.help needed
The compressor for the a.c. on my 82 vette won't kick in, I don't think it is locked up because it never made any noise, but the a.c. blew cold one day and hot the next.I guess it is an electrical problem any suggestion on where to start trouble shooting would be greatly apprecaited.

Probe back of electrical connector on compressor for power. No power, then disconnect connector on dryer and test for power.If there is power to connector then low pressure switch on dryer is not satisfied "low gas" or switch is bad.Check system pressure for low gas pressure.I had the same symptom but power and pressure was fine.With engine off and a/c on i sprayed brake cleaner on the a/c clutch face to remove the grime and that allowed the magnetic clutch to engage.
