Decided to upgrade the appearance of my master cylinder and booster in the Can-Am. Got a stainless steel booster and an aluminum master cylinder off e-bay (from 2 different sources !). They look great, and will bolt together perfectly ..........but I didn't realize that the master cylinder was a 1 inch bore and not the 1 1/8 bore that the power brakes usually are ! Will this cause me any problems --- lessen the volume too much --- change the braking characteristics too much --- or cause some other problems with the brake system ?
Any help and advice will really be appreciated !!!! Do you think this will work or should I get the larger bore M/C ! Thanx, Rick

Sounds like a good idea but lets see'm? What's the setup look like? I what to improve my MC too and aluminum sounds cool. cardo0
I agree with Keith, i would swap it otu especially since you have a booster, it will be hard to modulate those brakes since they take a lot of pedal travel yet the pedal will be very light. I like my brakes hard w/ little travel, it allows you to modulate brake pressure by holding your heel on the floor and using only the bending of the ankle & pressing with the toes to apply the brakes, I don't like having to stand on the brakes w/ the foot off the floor board, just like welding is easier when you rest your elbows on the table.
This should definitely brighten up the engine compartment a little more............... lol. This m/c has no markings on it at all --- same as the box I got it in ! ?????????
Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation now has some cool m/c's with plain, milled, and flamed tops on them ...... a little pricey (but your life does depend on them ---- right ?).
I'll let you know when I get everything installed, hopefully in a couple of weeks. Gotta get in gear to get ready for Carlisle ! Later, Rick
