Default 78 speedo problem

how hard to bypass cruise transducer? Replace with non cruise cable? Need info on level of diffucilty

The longer non cruise cable will work, easy enough. Easier, try a lower cable for 86-88 SS Monte Carlo which may work by connecting directly to the upper cable.

I took it out....and just replaced the two short cables with a long one..no problems.

A non-cruise one is easy to install except getting the end through the firewall grommet.

not to hijack this thread , but i noticed on the bloomington road tour my speedo was reading like 25 when i was doing way more then jumped up to what i was really doing,,new 2 piece cable,(new trans for that matter everythings new) also when i installed the cable i also bought the cable lube and coated the 2 cables good before i assembled them,,,just started doing this,,, dirty needle on the guage???

That would normally be the transducer going out w/ 2 cables. With one cable, then the cable. It can also happen after the cable has taken a set & someone moves it, moving back can fix.

i dont have a transducer,all i did was replace both cables they are a 2 piece design and its worked fine till now,,carl
