Default newbie question

First time corvette owner here. 1979 L82. Haven't had a prob with it until now. The engine has been running pretty hot lately. The gauge reads 100-280 and I've been running at around 240-250 at 65-70mph. Just wandering if this is normal. A month ago it was in the 220 range. The temp here in Texas has been 90+ lately. Anyhow, I will probably be on here with more questions in the near future. Thanks

The gauge reads 280? Is that a typo? That is dangerously hot. You need to verify the accuracy of your gauge with an infrered temp gun pointed at the thermostat housing. If that is, in fact, your temperature, then you have a problem that you should address before you let it get that hot again.

And do a search on here for cooling issues. There is a ton of info on diagnosing and addressing overheating.
