Hello corvette friends having a look at replaceing the vacuum advance unit on my b/b dist. and started to undoing the screws untill they hit the breaker plate what is the correct way to move the breaker plate around so I can access to the screws? thank you.

When I replaced mine, I had the dist. out of the car. I think I had to pull the shaft in order to get enough clearance to get the Vacuum unit out/in. I hope there's an easier way to do it though, for your sake..

Although, pulling the dist, is really not that bad.

Good luck!

It is a tight fit, but you should be able to remove the vacuum advance without any significant breakdown of the dist. You may have to move the breaker plate around. When you are done, adjust your dwell and that should be it.
