Default Shorty headers available?

I'm going to be needing some new headers for my 68. I was considering going to shorty type headers since I'm tired of my full length units rubbing on the ground.
I'm in no hurry, but I know my full length headers are on the way out and I was considering some with ceramic coating and I thought I'd look for shorties.

Anyone know of a brand or type that will fit?

I've got Hedman Shorty Headers on my '71 small block.

I have no complaints with the exception of it's a little tough to get to a couple of the spark plugs. Also, I had to route spark plug wires 1, 3, 2 and 4 down and behind the motor mounts, then across the side of the block.

The thing that I really like about them is how easy they are to remove and then re-install. You don't have to snake a big header down the side of the motor.

The bock hugger headers generally don't do a whole lot better than stock exhaust manifolds in dyno testing. They will save some weight though.

How does having AC change the fit? I'm sure that shorties 1 5/8" fit/flow better w/TFS heads than stk rams horns. I'd like the top end of long tubes but don't want the scraping/grinding over bumps.

When you use shorties does the stock exhaust bolt right up? What I'm asking is do they mimic the placement of the stock rams horns?

I wouldn't bet on it - I think you need to custom fit a piece between the new headers and the stock system.

goto

http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/new_headers.htm

scroll down until you see

"Tri-five Chevy's and Corvette"

they are a 3/4 header that will fit corvettes. They also have block huggers available. Nice people to work with, very helpful via e-mail from their website.

I have this set of Dynomax with ceramic coating that I would make you a nice deal on... Let me know if you are interested.
