Default Main Beam Question

The main beam on my 1980 C3 isn't working and I think it's because the turn signal switch on the steering column is broken. Before I go and order a new one, does the turn signal switch also contain the main beam switch? I know this sounds like a dumb *** question but I've never had a main beam so I don't know!!!!

Thanks

Is that like a main VEIN? WTF are you talking about? The high beam/low beam switch for the headlights?

I think he does mean high & low beam and yes, it's on that lever (pull it to switch on/off)

Hey Gorman, where is there another "main beam" on a car? I post some innocent question and you go and get all arsey because you don't understand it. There's only one main vein on this post and it wasn't there before you posted..

Yes Twin Turbo that's exactly what I meant...

Thanks

Hey, I appologized for being a prik...

I could continue down that path, but I'll take my medication instead.

So, the question is : Where is the HI/LO beam switch on an 80 ?
I know of many 80s GM cars that had a rod through the column,
and the switch was actually under the bottom of the dash - mounted
to the outside of the column.

I'd be surprised if it is actually inside the column .... but then these
are funky cars.

Um ... yeah, I guess I was right .... Here is Jim Shea's paper:
