i removed the ''y'' strap by drilling out the large headed rivits,sent it out for jet coating, then 3 gloss black and 3 clear coats,,reinstalled ''y'' strap by getting the correct rivits and ''swedging'' the rivits with a swedging tool and a anvil------------

I'm not putting mine back in since I can't use it. I had considered glassing it up more as an auxillery cargo space. Pretty much sealed but since I don't need the room and had no use for the luggage rack its going the same route.
Unneeded weight.
I did clean it with a pressure washer as did the whole rear end. A car wash would make it simpler to clean than a garden hose.

Removed and painted my V with gloss black POR-15 and the tub matches the body color.
