adding a huge electric fan (draws 40a on startup), electric fuel pump, and MSD box, and lockup converter, the stock 63a alt was no longer cutting the mustard. Weird anomolies I attribute to low system voltage started occurring: fuel pump fuses (only 7.5a requred) started blowing and the wipers started to run, then park by themselves.

Friday I went to a local auto electric shop and bought their souped up version of a CS130 alternator. It's a newer design alternator, bolts right in, but requires a harness adapter for the brown and white wires. CS130's are normally rated for 100a, the one I bought puts out 160a. Even at idle, my volt meter was well to the right of 13 and above 1000 rpm it was around 16 v. The car has never run better. With the headlights on, A/C running, wipers, and cooling fan. the voltmeter was half way between 13v and the right hand peg.
