H pipe question
where is the best place to install a H pipe? my 81 has 2 1/2 pipes both ran down the passenger side a few inches apart (power seat) should it be closer to the headers or closer to the rear axle? also what effect will it have on the exhaust sound?

If you are looking for best performance it is quite front. Paint a pipe right after headers lets say a 10-25 inch long stripe, install the H into that spot where the paint is no more boiling, because after that point the gases are getting cooler and speed is getting lower and you start losing the benefits from the H...
