Default Sun Visor Question

Just bought a 68 roadster. It didn't come with sun visors. Did all 68 vettes have sun visors or was this an option. This is my first vette so I've got alot to learn. Thanks!!

Yes they did..Make sure when you purchase your new sun visors that you buy for 1968 since they are a one year only sun visor which you'll find is true with most parts for the 68'.. Try Ecklers or Corvette America but I really like dr. Rebuild' Corvette Homepage..Check it out..

I've owened a couple of '68s and the visers won't stay up. You can tighten them, modify them, or the simpelest solution - remove them and put them in a box for that future NCRS restoration.

Mine didn't come with visors either, the last owner had them signed by Zora and kept them. Wilcox has the cheapest and they matched...

The visors and visor hardware are another one of those unique-to-68 items. Everything changed for the '69 models. Sunvisor hardware changed a couple or three times during '68 production in what appears to be attempts to get it right. Debatable whether they succeeded. The '68 assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows visor installation and the correct part numbers for the hardware at the time the AIM was printed. It also lists the prior changes, dates for the changes, and previous part numbers. You can use your Time/Build code to determine the set up which would have been correct for your car.

Now..How do you keep the 68' sunvisors up instead of falling down once you reach 30 mph?? I've tried clips and other items but i still can't the sunvisors to stay put..I don't want to super glue them either !!

I put a slight "kink" in the metal rod that goes through them. That keeps them steady at speeds up to about 140.
