Default TH350 shift pints

my trans shifts about at 4500rpm when wot (shirps the tires really nice) I have a adjustable modulator valve that raises the shift points and firms up the shift, but every time I try to raise the shift pints all it does is firm up the shifts, I wanted to raise the shift points up to like 5800rpm to get better times how do I raise the shift points?
Thank You

I've never used an adjustable modulator but it should be raising your shift points. I'm guessing you turn an allen screw in the vacuum port and it changes the tension on the spring inside. With that spring tighter, it should take greater force (e.g. greater RPMS) before it activates the hydraulic valve. Maybe your valve isn't working quite right? You can pull it out and clean it if you want (just use a magnet after you've pulled out the modulator diaphragm). 4500 sounds lower than mine shifted stock at WOT. Is the adjustment maxed out or is it getting too violent?

its getting too violent it shifts really hard (I like how it shifts but if I go higher is going to be insane ) the modulator is only a few months old

If I recall correctly, the vacuum modulator only controls shift points while cruising. You need to adjust the governor to change them at WOT.

Me, I'm too lazy to mess with the governor while it's so hot outside. I use the shifter when I want to go deep into the high revs.

I'm going to buy a B&M Governor Recalibration Kit but I'm not going to install it until I'm in California

I was checking the instructions and its going to take time because I have to change springs and weights until I get the best combination for my vehicle

Thats what I'm going to do too until I install this thing
