Default Lars' Tech Support Line is Down...

Just a quick note to those of you who have been e-mailing tech questions to my tech support line at V8FastCars@msn.com. My computer lost all its magic smoke about 10 days ago, and I have been unable to access my e-mail since then (I cannot access personal e-mail through my office firewall). I expect to be back up on line again within a few days, and I will respond to all tech request mails in the order they were received just as soon as I have a functioning system again. Keep in mind that I receive 50 to 70 tech request e-mails per day, so it may take me a few days to get caught up and to answer your questions - but I will get to your mail and respond to eveyone who has mailed me just as soon as I can.

Lars,
I haven't asked for help yet but thanks for what you have done and explained for all the other guys. If you need a spare stick of magic computer smoke let me know. I"ll pull it out of one of my doorstops.

Thanks for all the kind words and comments - always nice to know that the effort is helping some of you guys out.

As of today - Tuesday 8-30-05 - my computer is back up and on-line again. I'm backlogged just under 300 tech request e-mails right now, but I'll be working them off as quickly and accurately as possible.

If you receive a short, concise, and to-the-point answer from me, please don't be offended by my lack of social nicities - just trying to get you a good, correct answer to your question(s) as quickly as possible so I can get everyone taken care of... I'll be back to myself shortly..

Lars, glad your back ! Sorry you didn't make it to Carlisle.......... maybe you can one of these days ------ a really great time !
Thanx for sharing all your knowledge with us ! Thanks to your tuning session, I'm now getting my '73 straightened out ! Found 5 major things wrong with the distributor :
tach drive gear stripped (which I figured !)
too much slop (needed 2 shims)
vacuum advance shot
mechanical advance frozen (no movement !)
bushing missing
At the moment I've got an old distributor dropped in.......... and the car runs like a top ------- can't wait to get the rebuilt (good) one back in ! Thanx Lars --- your the man !!! Rick

Good to see you're back.

Did our Northern Virginia Tuning for Beer Tour make it into a magazine? I forgot to look for that with the craziness of these last few months.

"Social nicities"? Lars we never expect social nicities from you. Unless of course you're running on over a six pack
