An update on the Keisler TKO-500 we are about done installing in a 78:
Everything is about buttoned up, no missing parts. I will check/balance the drive-shaft,(no weights) Tuesday. The factory bell-housing was at the edge of the spec., but ok (.004). I would recommend Socket-head bolts for the trans. in place of the 3/4 inch head style provided. No pounding of the tunnel required, but it is tight. Road testing Wednesday!

Sounds good...it could the driveshaft was "in tolerance" to Keisler vibration spec's and did not require balancing.....be waiting results of balancing...

Default Too bad for Keisler....it's not worth it.

Greetings :
I've been following your thread for some time, And it has aided my decision to not buy a Keisler product. I considered buying a "Can" (universal) tremac. But the Shifter Location IS the Real issue! All the other " Kit" parts can be made or bought. My SWC is not stock. But I refuse to cut any fiberglass panel....... including the tunnel. I like the engineering and quality of the Mcleod shifter offered on the Classic Chevy 5 speed And if the customer support is as good as everyone says ........All the better

No worries

I am thankful that Keisler offers an overdrive tranny for my C3. I absolutely hated not having an overdrive. With a 3.73 rear it was ridiculously inappropriate on the highway. I think you guys should be a little easier on them. After all, they started the whole idea of creating an overdrive conversion for our C3's. I was waiting forever for someone to step up and they were the first to do so. If there are others, fine, but Keisler was the company that got it started.
