Default Richmond 6speed install

Ive read some comments that theres little info regarding the ROD option on this forum?
I installed the Richmond several years ago, I made documentation available to take some of the fear of the unknown out of this this "Very Valuable" C3 upgrade. Here's the link to documentation and Pics,Hope it helps anyone considering a 6speed for their Vette.

Nice work! I wish I'd had that much help available when I put the tremec 5 speed in my '68 this spring...

Very nice! The only thing that might be considered for people not wanting side pipes would be a different crossmember so the exhaust doesn't have to go through that darn thing. I thought exhaust fumes were just a part of driving an old vette until I changed to a different crossmember and was able to weld up my exhaust!

I put a Tremec 5-speed in my '76 this summer and it was a nightmare (of course I don't know what I am doing and don't have a lift etc.) However, I did get it in and it works perfectly.

Does anyone know what how much torque the ROD is rated for?

I have approx 700hp/750tq in my 496 with ROD road race version. After a "drag race" 1-2 shift second gear was trashed. Talked with Richmond and they don't rebuild these - sent off to somewhere in Indiana? that does NASCAR stuff and they massaged it to the max. No trouble now and very smooth but I also take it a bit easier to attempt some longevity for my drivetrain since its a weekend cruiser now. Call richmond if you need details, I can't remember the company.

But if you have that much power you need to look at your rear components first... those were the first to go and first to be upgraded, had to use Tom's in Cali

I already upgraded the rear with toms kit with the bigger driveshafts 30 spline axles, spicers etc. Im going to have his 12 bolt posi installed before I get the tranny and build my 540. I really want stick shift but if it cant take the torque Ill have to settle for auto.
