GM Crate Motor ???

The new GM Crate engine, 260 & 290 hp, are the engines run at the factory? I want get the 260hp & put in a Lunati Voodoo cam. Not sure if I need lifters. If it wasn't run, the lifters should good for a new cam. I know lifters are only $80, but if I don't need them, i can $pend it on something else...

I did that, put in a Summit cam ($60) and used the stock lifters that cam with the eng, no problems what so ever.

I bought the 260 HP also. Installed Al heads and cam. Used the lifters that cam with it. No problems in 2 years running. I don't think it is run at GM since it has no intake manifold etc. They probably run some kind of spin test just to be sure it rotates and gets oil.

we have done a bunch of them and have had no problems.....if they were run, the time is very minimal......

My GMPP 350/290 was fresh as a daisy and the first gas burned in it was the stuff that came through my quadrajet.

Hecho en Mexico baby!!

If they did spin it, it didn't amount to much.
