Where did they set the toe setting during the alignment? If they set it at zero, then under driving pressure, it's not uncommon for the toe to change to being somkewhat plus giving a darty feeling when driving. Have them set the toe to a negative setting and see if it makes a difference
I'm not sure where they set it. The guy just asked me what i planned on doing with the car. i told him street/ strip. I really don't know squat about suspension.
Oh, I was looking in the wrong place. I see the sway bar way up high. Have you ran it without a sway bar? I'm curious to see/make sure it doesn't take away at the strip.
I'm sitting here trying to analyze what all I've changed since last running it, when it didn't do this. Other than 18" rims & tires, the only thing I can think of is the tires footprints. The rear footprint is now wider and the fronts are slightly narrower.
If all your front end is tight, then I'd say it's probably a collapsed brake hose............. my van did the same thing ! Hit the brake and the thing pulled hard to the left...... and when I let off the brake..... it veered hard to the right ------- the hose looked fine but collapsed on the inside (right side), making brake fluid slow going in (left jerk) and slow going out (right veer) --------- jack the front end up and spin each wheel while someone hits the brakes ---- easy to see if that's the problem ! My vette jerked hard to the left because the lower control arm bushing was starting to come out !!! ------ Thankfully found it in time and didn't hit anything ! Rick
hehehe.....lemme guess, your van was/is a Dodge.....don't ask me how I know.....
I had the same problem. Car whipping left and right during braking.... The problem was the lower control arm rear mounting bolt (big one) was loose. the control arm would MOVE. Check the bolts.

Now that's something my dumb self can check out. Considering that the guy that did the alignment didn't tighten the lug nuts (wheel fell off), he may not have tightened that one too. Thanks for the tip! By the way, love your avatar!
