Pulling the steering box
Engine is a smallblock and the headers are Hedman 68301's (with smog tubes)
When pulling the steering gearbox out, will the header need to go too? Looks like it can be unbolted just fine and lifted straight out, probably pulling the pitman arm first for simplicity.
In fact, it looks like an easier gearbox to pull than most others I've done in my long-ago years as a brake&front end man.

Yes I pulled mine without touching the headers. After removing the 3 bolts it is a smooth back and slides right out.
