Hello
Does anyone know if there is a diagram for the placement for the insulation clips for under the floor pans? I have the metal pans and the plastic top shield. Do the clips rivet to the bottom of the fiberglass floor pan? Are the clip tabs suppose to bend to the side after being riveted? The insulation looks like it also goes up into the transmission area? There are no holes in the fiberglass floor pans now. Is the insulation a factory item? Thanks for your responce.
Can't tell you much about the underbody pieces, since mine were long gone when I got the car. You are correct - there is a separate "blanket" that goes over the transmission. There is also a foam collar that goes somewhere up over the bellhousing area. I bought one while I had my car apart, but forgot it when I re-assembled everything. It's still sitting in my basement, doing a great job of insulating that shelf in my shop!
I was going to order the underbody stuff, too, but it always seemed to me that it probably wouldn't hold up too well anyway, given its location under the car?

I have a 435 also, I'm sure it has the insulation, I'll check tonite...Yours probably had them. Look for the 3/16 inch holes for the rivets...They get riveted in, then set insulation up and push flush to floor-pan, the points will come thru the insulation. Then fold them over to hold it up in place. I have seen the tangs folded over both ways. Take your pick! BTW, this is probably illustrated in your assembly manual. You have one, don't you?
