Speedometer too slow - gear ?

Speedometer too slow - gear ?
My speedometer shows about 10mph - 12 mph too slow. From what I can tell, I need to find a drive gear that has 2 LESS teeth? Does that sound right? I plan on jacking the car up this weekend to pull out the existing gear to have a look to see how many/what color it is.

I haven't since I bought it a year and half ago. It has 255 60 15s. I think they are slightly taller than stock, but still, the speedo is fast by 10 or so mph. And if/when I replace the tires, I'll stick with this size as I like em.

i found out in a th-400 every tooth is roughly 3 to 4 mph,,,,i ran down the highway with a friend in a c-4 and he held 60 and we had push to talk nextal radios,,,i added the new gear and got it as close as possible,then dumped the th-400 for the 700-r-4
