My A/C on my 78 will not blow on high speed. When you switch the blower to the high position, it blows on high for about 1-second then stops. I have already replaced the blower relay on the firewall. And I know that the relay coils that are down inside the A/C case also controls that, but they all look good. Any suggestons ?
My first suggestion would have been the relay, but you already got to that one.
I'm guessing that either it's the blower control switch in the console, or possibly the new relay is weak and failing. A voltmeter would quickly solve this puzzle.
BTW: Those resistor coils don't have anything to do with the high speed blower. They only operate on the lower settings to reduce voltage to the blower.

Sounds like it may be the switch it self... wiggle it a bit see if the fan motor starts up again...that's just aquick test. who knows it might be it.
When I bought my 73 Bubba had replaced the inline high blower fuse with a circuit breaker. Could be that another Bubba did the same to yours and the breaker is going bad, or they installed one with a lower amp rating.
The high blower get power from the horn relay (driver's side fender) a heavy gauge wire (orange on the 73) runs from the horn relay back across the firewall directly to the high blower relay. There should be a inline fuse in that wire near the master cylinder.
