Firstly my apologies in case I'm not making any sense. My technical English vocabulary is not what it should be
As some may recall I'm busy hooking up patriots to my '79. It still has the stock ramshorns and whatvere size they are: they're a smaller diametre than the pipes that came with the patriots.
What is the best way to make the bigger pipe fit the horns? Cut off the end of the old pipes and have that welded to the new pipes?

The gripbolt solution using the keyholes to hook the pipes to the sides, works fine by the way
You can buy pre-formed "necks" which mate to the stock manifolds and taper from 2" (or 2.25") up to 2.5". These get welded in place. Also, a good exhaust shop can fabricate the necks.
