I have installed a 95 corvette blower motor in my 76 wide body car.
My question is what are you using for the hose that goes from the 95 motor to the air box to keep the fan motor cool. Will the 95 hose work on the 76 air box? I appreciate your input.
My original hose was deteriorated and fell apart when removed. If I remember correctly there's a plastic fitting that mounts on the evap box. From there I used a piece of heater hose. I think 5/8". At the blower motor I found that 3/8" hose fit perfectly into the blower and also inside the 5/8" hose. It all locks in place securely. Didn't need any glue or anything.
I got a 12"x12"x1" piece of plastic materal from McMaster/Carr.It cost about $20.00.It is enough materal to do two fan motors.I made a template and cut it out with a band saw.
I'm getting ready to install my new blower motor too. What kind of material did you use for your spacer?
I went to bed, bath & beyond and got two 1/2" plastic cutting boards. Cut the shape with a saber saw and used RTV to make sure it sealed. Worked great and only $5 ea for the boards.
Also, do you recall which blade is the negative one?
You mean the electrical connections? Positive has a red base.
