Default Another 1971 Wiring Question

I posted a few question here earlier this week about some of my wiring woes. Evidently one of the previous owners (or maintaners) of my car was very good with wire cutters, so my harness is toast. I have spent a bunch of money on the car lately and cannot afford to put out the cash for a new harness right now so here's question:

I have a dark blue and a yellow wire (both probably about 16 or 18 gauge) that come out of the harness just under the windshield wiper motor in the engine bay that are not connected to anything. Looking at the wiring diagram it shows two wires of this color connected to something near the wiper motor but i can't find any place for them to go. Before this whole disassembly process, the wipers and wiper door both worked. Not sure about the washer pump as I have never bothered filling up the bottle. I'm pretty sure these wires have something to do with the windshield wiper or washer but I am stumped.

Thanks for any help!!

Bill

Any idea where there two go?

i have a medium blue and a yellow wire(s) with bullet terminals on them. they go to your washer motor. one comes into the cover at about the 10 o'clock position and the other comes in from about the 4 o'clock position. they plug into the washer through the plastic cover.

On my '69 those wires go to the headlight washer solenoid control valve.

You can check it that is what they are by checking the voltage (check each of the wires to ground individually) there when you press and hold the wash button in. (The wash function occurs when the wiper speed selection switch is pushed in).

When the wash button is held down it is supposed to power the solenoid to send fluid forward to the headlight washers.

There is a REMOTE possiblity that one of the wires is always hot and is shut off when the washer button is held down-but I'd bet against that.
