So i got new water diverters for the 74. When i went to put them in i found they were rivoted in place. Is that how they were put in from the factory? If so how do i rremove them and then do i need to pop rivot them back in? Not real familiar with the whole pop rivot thing.
the ones on the windshield frame or on the door latch plate/b pillar??? They are both pop rivited, drill out the rivets and pop rivet them back in. Pop riveting is easy, I can't see how you could screw that up..just get the correct size (and don't get your fingers caught in the rivet gun, especially when you have omne of those scissor types they are great for mauling fingers )

Were you there watching me or something? Rivet guns were one of the major reasons behind my decision to quit working as a tech years ago! Some of my fingers still haven't forgiven me
Mine are not held in by rivets. They are held in place by the door sill. Loosen the door sill, slide diverter in place under the sill, retighten door sill.

They have something for that, a pneumatic rivet gun (or an electric one)
On one of mine diverters, a previous owner must have replaced one and just used a couple of screws to attache it. Works fine, doesn't hit the bottom of the door
