81 timing
I just got this vette and the carb was replaced with a edelbrock and the distributer was relaced with one you can manually time.. any ideas on the timing degree. it was set at 15 after tdc when I got it I have it set at 8 before tdc ..running ok but a little hot

Do a search and check out Lars' paper on this, pretty informational and also there's another paper on the carb tuning. Better to understand both of these at the same time when adjusting one or the other, especially if the history of either isn't known.
