I got a Drop down base and lid from B and B Auto, via the internet. Do a search. The price was very good.
Carb and dist work is easy. Pack them up and send them to Lars. He does great work. The carb was maybe $100 and the dist was $85 I think. Runs great and his papers are useful.
I don't think that air cleaner will work with if you have a Rochester Carb, like most BB's have. Unless you have an '71 LS-6 or an LT-1 the base listed will not work. It is made for a Holley.
You need the air cleaner base for an LS-5 or the non-LT-1 350's from '68, '69,'70,'71, or '72.

This base/lid will definitely fit any LS-5 as it is advertised for 68-70E 350 & 427, all of which use a quadrajet.
Obviously it is not the OEM dual snorkel base, but is the perfect option for someone looking to replace their dual snorkel with a factory style open element air cleaner.

Thanks to all for the advise. I have the dual snorkel, but I was looking for a little more power (hopefully) and a possibly a little more intake noise because the darn thing is too quiet!!
Reworking the distributor will be a piece of cake for me. I have worked on Holley carbs which are very simple, the Q-Jets are so complex. I just bought the Q-Jet book.
Does Lars have a shop, in other words, what's his addres or does he have a website?
I work in New Jersey and missed his last "tune fest"!
