Default Back on the 2004R project again

Well, I have to get moving on this 2004R into the wife's 77. I have a supercharged 3800 V6 coming that has an 88 Fiero GT waiting impatiently. Well that's the latest one to be added to the list anyway...

So here's the question. In the photo below, I have marked the detent cable's mounting peg. In order to get the BTO adapter for the EZTV Cable on there I have to remove the peg. What is the best way to do this? It says nothing about it in the directions and I've never heard anyone mention it before. I was gonna take the carb over to the grinding wheel but there must be a better, safer, easier way to do this.

Also, notice how the contoured groove in the adapter is slightly different than the contour of my carb's linkage. It doesn't fit like I would expect it too. Is this going to be a problem if I don't get it to seat in just the right position? I figured I could take that to the grinding wheel to but thought it would be better to ask first.

Sorry, I can't answer your question but I had to make my own bracket to fit the Holley carb I am using. Tans install

If you grind the back off of that stud on your carb you can knock it out with a punch. Be careful to support the arm on the linkage when you punch the stud out so that you don't bend it. The new BTO part doesn't fit exactly on the throttle arm but once it's on there and the bolts are tight it isn't going to go anywhere and it works great. Don't worry about the less than exact fit.

Hold on. That pic didn't show up last time I looked at this thread. I think you have a bracket for a newer carb. I would grind out the throttle plate on the carb so that bracket fits on there like it does on the newer q-jets.

got the linkages setup the day before yesterday thanks to my rotary grinder.

And today I finally got the transmission and crossmember bolted up in place. As far as having to modify the crossmember... the bolt holes in the mount lined up dead center in the original slots. BUYAH!!!
