Jeg's Holley engine kit?
Anybody have one? Cost? Listened to one yesterday and the motor sounded nice. Claims of 400HP by the owner on an '77 L48. He had also put true duals 2 1/2 exhaust on. Still lower compression pistons, so I'm thinkin maybe 300+.

If you have a good short block all you'll need is a gasket kit and some rocker arms. I went with the holley kit,a short block from a local shop, new hooker headers and header back pipes, dynomax super turbos and a 750 carb that brett built for me, and got it all done and came in just at $3,000 but brett did me a smoke'n deal on the carb and the short block was a deal too.
Did his sound like this?...http://media.putfile.com/Movie_000274

The MAXimum Performance Holley SysteMAX II package, was uncompromisingly designed for the person who will settle for nothing but the ultimate engine performance package. The cam is more radical than the typical run-of-the-mill grind. Lift and duration have been made to be rather ''aggressive'' and and it makes great power throughout the RPM band. This cam is about as bad as you can get and still have decent manifold vacuum and low end throttle response.
SysteMAX Requirements:
Chevrolet 350 CID short block
4-bolt Mains
Zero-Decked
Forged Steel Crankshaft
GM ''Pink'' Rods, P/N 14096846, or equivalent
Speed Pro Flat Top Pistons, #844-L2417, or equivalent
Speed Pro Rings, File Fit
Holley testing was conducted with a 750 CFM vacuum secondary carburetor, #510-0-3310. A good set of 1-5/8'' tube headers, used in conjunction with some high-flow/low-back-pressure mufflers is definitely recommended. If you're running a beefed-up TH-350 automatic transmission then a 3,000+ RPM stall converter will help lower drag strip times. If you're running a TH-700R4 automatic transmission, a 2,500+ RPM stall converter will perform best. For all-around great street/strip performance a rear axle ratio of around 3.55 should be used. A set of the Crane, (#270-11750-16), roller rocker arms is also recommended. New, top quality gaskets for your specific application are required separately and are not part of the package.
cam is the last one on the page Part #07104LK
