door mechanical question

I'm interested in changing my '77 to the '78-'82 door panels...what changed inside the doors for '78?

No one knows what was changed (latches, locks, etc)??? I know the inner handle is different, and in a different location.

I know the latches and locks are listed as different - but I don't know if that was done simply to accomodate the integrated alarm circuit.

My advice is to purchase the assembly instruction manuals (AIM) for 77 and 78. You can then compare the two installations and determine exactly what you need for the door panel swap.

I need to get a 77 manual, but I was hoping that some of the all-year gurus on here would have some idea of what would be involved. Time to go manual shopping...
